PewDiePie vs T-Series – A Never Ending Battle

Over the last five years, he has reigned over the video-streaming site as the most subscribed channel but a recent scare from an Indian music label company, T-Series, which seemed set to dethrone the king of your YouTube wall. Following a worldwide campaign, which saw all manner of channels, users and viewers do their best to keep PewDiePie on top, his top spot seemed secure. And after a recent decision by the platform, his position is set for the forseeable future. With over 76 million subscribers now, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg aka PewDiePie, is the most popular YouTube celebrity in the world, with the highest number of followers.

The pushback against T-Series overtaking PewDiePie is largely down to a feeling among creators and users that YouTube is becoming more corporate, moving away from its roots of everyday people with a camera. PewDiePie very much represents that classic YouTube style of an everyday person talking into a camera, while T-Series represents the corporate takeover. So, many YouTubers and fans have been doing their part to assist PewDiePie, Such as MrBeast’s ad campaign, hacking printers with messages reading ‘subscribe to PewDiePie’, and even a massive billboard in Time Square, New York.

But now, it appears even YouTube themselves are doing their part. As part of a recent ‘purge’, YouTube removed millions of “spam subscriptions” – dropping T-Series by over 300,000, while PewDiePie lost only 80,000, approximately. PewDiePie raced ahead of T-Series following YouTube’s spam account crackdown. Fans of PewDiePie are still not convinced though. According to a report, PewDiePie supporters defaced the Wall Street Journal’s website and even hijacked more printers.

A section of Wall Street Journal was hacked with a fake apology and message asking people to subscribe to PewDiePie, Independent UK reported.

“WallStreet Journal would like to apologize to pewdiepie. Due to misrepresentation by our journalists, those of whom have now been fired, we are sponsoring pewdiepie to reach maximum subscribers and beat Tseries to 80million,” the message read. The hacked page has since been deleted. Earlier, a PewDiePie supporter, who goes the Twitter handle HackerGiraffe, had hijacked over 50,000 printers with the same message asking people to subscriber to YouTuber’s channel.

PewDiePie who was pretty close to losing his crown as the top YouTube channel recently increased the margin. YouTube had conducted a crackdown on removing spam accounts which led to PewDiePie losing around 40,000 accounts while T-Series lost over 200,000 subscribers. With the increased gap, PewDiePie is now ahead with almost 77 million subscribers, while T-Series remains second in the 75 million bracket. It seemed clear that no matter what efforts PewDiePie made, at one point T-Series would eventually take over, given the population of India and how popular T-Series’ content is in the country. However, thanks to the community, fans, and now YouTube too, PewDiePie has taken a commanding lead.

The 29-year-old currently has more than 76.7million subscribers and T-Series is behind with more than 75.4million. The gap between the two has come as close as 16,000 subscribers at one point. PewDiePie fans have taken the race so seriously they’ve reportedly hacked printers and video game Grand Theft Auto V to show messages supporting him.His place on the YouTuber subscriber table is cemented as he has been embroiled in a fresh “racism” storm after praising a “Nazi” YouTube channel reportedly known for its anti-Semetic content. The YouTuber used one of his videos to urge viewers to subscribe to the “hateful” channel.

Aquaman – Most Ambitious DC Movie to Date

“After two years of consuming and devouring my every waking hour, this little indie movie is finally done,” wrote the filmmaker. “It was a monster undertaking. I can’t THANK enough the amazing post team of VFX/editorial/sound for working tirelessly around the clock — crazy-long days, 7 days a week, for many many many weeks without a day off — towards making this a unique and beautiful film. Everyone poured their heart and soul into it, and I can’t wait to share this 21st December! In the meantime, I’m gonna go take a really long nap now.”

DC Comics’ lord of the seas is getting his own solo feature in 2018’s Aquaman. Jason Momoa will reprise his superhero role from 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League for the film, and early reviews offer reason to be optimistic about the movie’s arrival.

Directed by Insidious and Furious 7 filmmaker James Wan, Aquaman follows Arthur Curry (Momoa) as he is forced to reconcile his loyalties to the surface world with his role in the undersea kingdom of Atlantis, which has become increasingly hostile to the humans polluting the oceans. The film’s supporting cast includes Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman.

Reviews of DC’s “Aquaman” vary between feelings of surprise and disappointment. Some critics are applauding director James Wan’s strong re-imagining of a previously stale character, while others are harping on DC’s inability to stack up against rival Marvel — but most are just relieved the film isn’t an all-out flop. There are virtually no qualms about Jason Momoa’s performance, which is widely acknowledged to be a vast improvement on the old Aquaman, who was more akin to “SpongeBob’s” Mermaid Man than a DC hero. The bigger problems, critics say, are its unnecessary length and overstuffed plot.

Here’s what critics are saying about “Aquaman,” which hits theaters on Dec. 21:

“Aquaman’ isn’t like the other DC Comics superheroes, so it seems only right that his bigscreen solo show should have a personality all its own — which, in the hands of ‘Furious 7’ director James Wan, it does. Gone is the Aryan-looking Atlantean in green-and-orange spandex, replaced with a bare-chested Hawaiian super-stud with long, shaggy surfer hair and all-over tribal tattoos. After being unveiled to the DC Comics Extended Universe as the scales of ‘Justice League’ last year, Aquaman gets his own adventure, and it’s kind of a shock that it doesn’t suck, but only if you’re willing to sit through two hours of water-logged world-building before the movie finally takes off.”

“With the exception of ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ every DC movie of the past decade has suffered Marvel Imitation Syndrome. This unique corporate malady takes a successful formula, darkens the frame, and deadens the story, under the assumption that audiences won’t notice. By those standards, James Wan’s ‘Aquaman’ is a cut above: The ‘Conjuring’ filmmaker abandons the witless mess of ‘Justice League’ to craft a colorful, vibrant ocean fantasy, but the considerable effort to improve on a leaden franchise can only float for so long before familiar baggage sinks its potential. Hobbled by a messy screenplay, paper-thin characters, and a hodgepodge of unimaginative showdowns stretched across bloated running time, ‘Aquaman’ is the latest example of a franchise that keeps chasing its competitor’s tail.”

New Pirates of Caribbean May Happen Without Johnny Depp

Speaking to Daily Mail, producer Stuart Beattie strongly recommended the franchise is moving in a different direction for the New Pirates of Caribbean chapter. Beattie was the screenwriter behind the original breakout hit, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, and has remained on with writing and producing credits for subsequent films due to the use of his characters.

New Pirates of Caribbean May Happen Without Johnny Depp

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of Disney’s longest running modern franchises, in part because of the iconic character Johnny Depp created, Captain Jack Sparrow. Now it seems Captain Jack might have sailed his last voyage, as the franchise is facing a potential reboot without Depp’s involvement.

While the original films centered profoundly on the love story of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley), Depp’s Jack Sparrow took on a life of its own and he became the main focus of the other two films in that original trilogy, which wrapped up the Turner-Swan story. From there, the Jack Sparrow character went on to lead in two more films: 2011’s On Stranger Tides and 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales. A sixth film is currently in production.

“I think [Depp]’s had a great run”. “Obviously he’s made that character his own and it’s become the thing that he’s most famous for now. It’s been great for him and it’s been great for us,” said Beattie.

In the same interview, he mentioned his own involvement in the franchise is over, which would suggest that the studio is done using his characters and ready to start from a clean slate. The fact that they’re rebooting something that you did means that you did something that was worth rebooting. It’s an honor to be rebooted.

Ruby Rose Stated

She said “Ruby is not a lesbian, therefore, she can’t be Batwoman’ come from,” Where did this come from. “I came out at 12? And have for the past five years had to deal with ‘she’s too gay’. How do Y’all flip it like that. I didn’t change.”

“When women and when minorities join forces we are unstoppable. [W]hen we tear each other down, it’s much more hurtful than from any group.”

“If you need me, I’ll be on my Bat Phone,” is her last message on Twitter. Ruby confirms that she is taking a break from Twitter.

All we know About Netflix's The Witcher

1. The plot

There is very little information available about Netflix The Witcher Series as of now. As per the Netflix Series Page the plot states, “The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts“. Luckily, to conclude more about the series plot Baginski said, “It is a story about today and today’s challenges hidden under a fantasy cover. It is a story about us about the monster and the hero inside of all our hearts“.

Also, Executive producers Sean Daniel and Jason Brown added, “The Witcher story follows an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world. The characters are original, funny, constantly surprising. And we can’t wait to bring them to life at Netflix the perfect home for innovative storytelling“.

2. Based on Novels

It’s gonna be in English and based on The Novels and not the Witcher Game. To which the book’s author Andrzej Sapkowski has given his praise to the project. Saying, “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories staying true to the source material. And the themes that I have spent over 30 years writing. I’m excited about our efforts together as well as the team assembled to Shepherd these characters to life“. He’ll also be acting as a creative consultant on the show.

3. Writer

Lauren Hissrich is the writer of this TV Series. And also, She is the executive producer and showrunner of the upcoming Netflix The Witcher series.  And Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has written the Pilot and Season 1 narrative arc. Alongside, 11 additional writers including Declan Deborah from the originals Jenna Klein from Jessica Jones and Sneha Korse from Daredevil as well as others.

4. Season Overview

As for any Netflix Series the standard episode structure of having 8 to 10 episodes of 60 minutes each. Netflix The Witcher series will have 8 Episodes each of 60 minutes densely packed action. And we all know the tense action and story of the Witcher series if you have ever played the game series. And I think that’s very unlikely to be true. 😉

5. Confirmed Characters

There are 6 characters that are confirmed. And they are, The Soul of the series Geralt of Rivia the Witcher also short named as Geralt. Another important confirmed character is Yennefer we all know the role of yennefer is important in the witcher game as it seems the same case for the Series. Besides, there are many other characters confirmed Including Ciri, Roach(the witcher’s horse), Dandelion who will go by his book name of  “Uski “, Triss Marigold,  Regis etc.

As for the Direction, 12 Oscar-Nominated films maker Tomasz Baginski is a confirmed director for at least 1 episode.

7. Release Date

Who knows?! We’re moving quickly ahead with everything — like my head is spinning around Exorcist-style, except with enthusiasm, not evil possession — but one thing is certain: quality comes before speed. All We Know About The Meg

People love shark movies and people also love to see Jason Statham in Action. Jason Statham is playing the role of Jonas Taylor in The Meg. It is a Gaint Killer Shark movie directed by Jon Turteltaub.

The Meg

Jonas Taylor is a deep sea rescue expert, therefore, they call him out of retirement to rescue his ex-wife. It is an underwater disaster, where she is trapped at the bottom of the Marianas Trench. However, it isn’t the worst part, because a giant squid attacks her and then comes a giant shark Megalodon, to eat the squid. Besides that, the Megalodons were considered extinct until this disaster happens.

The Meg Summary

There isn’t much to summarize about The Meg. Jonas comes for rescuing his ex-wife and Megalodon escapes into the open ocean. Then it starts eating every that comes in sight and People try to kill it. That about sums it up, just add an out of control shark and Jonas Statham in action. There you have it, The Meg.

The movie is surprisingly serious, considering Jason Statham fights a giant shark. The Filmmakers decided not leave even small things out because every scientific detail was explained in the movie. Therefore, in the end, you will find this movie plausible. When characters die in The Meg, in a very humane way the survivors moan and cry over their deaths. Since the movie was only made to show those people getting bitten in half anyway.

By letting the big action sequences play out huge and filling the little moments with detail. Jon Turteltaub did a very good job directing this movie. The audience will find this movie refreshing. Who are strongly influenced by those movies in which sharks fight mechanical sharks or hybrid wolf-sharks.

When Jonas finds himself swimming in the middle of the ocean, less than a hundred feet away from the ticked off Megalodon. He races that giant fish to a little boat that’s probably not safe. Therefore, the scene is filled with real intensity. Jason Statham doesn’t get to fight as many sharks as we want, but he’s completely at home in this movie. Morris sums him up perfectly: “He looks heroic and he walks fast, but he’s got kind of a negative attitude.”

9 Most Loved TV Shows of 2017

Before we start the list, you should know this list contains those series that aired in 2017. These are not specifically released in 2017. So here is the list of the 9 Most Loved TV Shows of 2017.

Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies

This is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel. It has audiences fixated on the television every week. The story follows several families that have seemingly perfect lives, but trouble lurks in paradise. While jean-marc vallée sharp direction and David E Kelly’s darkly comedic writing were integral to the show’s success. However, It’s the “all-star together” that brought this material to life Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, and Laura Dern show off some of their best work. But the MVPs are Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård, with their disturbing portrayal of domestic abuse.

2017 brought us a few shows connected to the x-men universe. And Legion is by far the best critically acclaimed show. The lead star Dan Stevens dominated the silver screen this year with Beauty and the Beast. And he also took center stage on the small screen as David Haller AKA Legion.

He is a mutant who has schizophrenia, and he is a mystery even to himself. Each episode of this series peels back David’s psyche one layer at a time. Therefore, the show manages to be harrowing, thrilling and empathetic at the same time. This series from Noah Hawley definitely stands out from the crowd with its surreal atmosphere and Kubrick-esque stunning visuals.

Better Call Saul

Better Call Saul

Better call Saul has evolved into something much more than a Breaking Bad spinoff. It’s a fascinating character study in its own light that redefines what a legal drama can be. In season three Jonathan Banks and Rhea Seehorn once again turned in strong supporting performances. While Giancarlo Esposito finally returned as Gus Fring.

However, the driving force behind this season was the relationship between “Jimmy” and “Chuck” much like Walter White and Hank. Therefore, the audience wasn’t sure if they should side with the crooked con men or the man of law. Their rivalry reached its boiling point in the episode “chicanery.” One of 2017’s most compelling hours of television.

Twin Peaks: The Return

Twin Peaks: The Return

In the final episode of the original Twin Peaks series. Laura Palmer tells Special Agent Dale Cooper that she’ll see him in 25 years. However, bringing this cult show back in 2017. It is either a giant coincidence or the most ingenious example of foreshadowing ever.

In last ten years, we’ve seen several shows that were prematurely canceled, rather getting a second chance. But when Twin Peaks: The Return was officially announced, it was a dream come true. Therefore, David Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost did not disappoint us. This 18 episode limited series remained true to its predecessor with a mystifying narrative structure, bizarre imagery, and subtle humor.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things

While the episode ‘chapter 7’ admittedly slowed the narrative down. Season 2 of stranger things was a stellar follow-up to its game-changing predecessor. In this sophomore season the duffer brothers expanded upon the dark inventive world they’ve created. While also dishing out plenty of nostalgic throwbacks.

It’s the timeless characters that have made this series special. These new episodes not only furthered several character arcs, but it also introduced a few welcome newcomers like “Mad Max.” The show even explored several dynamics audiences never knew they would like. Dustin and Steve might sound like an odd pairing, but their bromance is one for the ages. Besides that, best of all “barb” got some overdue justice.

The Leftovers

The Leftovers

Although, after receiving more than enough praise from critics. The leftovers failed to gain much traction either with audiences or major awards groups. However, the show’s third and final season solidified this drama status as an unsung masterpiece. When it debuted and as the story unfolded, viewers probably thought they were just gonna get a show about the rapture.

It became clear that The Leftovers was something much more profound. A show about how society responds to tragedy. And how we’re all searching for a greater purpose in this world. Above all else, it was a beautiful love story. With Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon both delivering awesome performances.

Master of None

Master of None

Aziz Ansari has grown into a truly gifted actor and storyteller. Master of None which he co-created with Alan yang went to some unexpected places in season 2. However, the storyline primarily remained focused on dev’s loved life. Therefore, the showrunners weren’t afraid to shift attention to supporting players like Denis. She came out to her mother Angela Bassett in the episode “Thanksgiving.”

This particularly ambitious episode takes the main cast out of the equation. Shining the spotlight on several characters we’d never seen before and may never see again. The only thing better than binge-watching this show would be binge eating some of the dev’s delicious pasta.

The Handmaid’s Tale

The Handmaid's Tale

While Netflix and Amazon have left their mark in this golden age of television. Hulu became the first streaming service to take home a series prize at the Primetime Emmys. The Handmaid’s Tale has not only won Outstanding Drama Series, but also awards for writing, directing, and acting as well. And we can’t think of a more deserving honoree.

Elisabeth Moss gives the performance of her career, as a fertile woman forced to become a concubine. The Handmaid’s Tale uses its dystopian sci-fi to deal with horrifying realities from our own world. Making it an important viewing experience.

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones

As much as haters like to nitpick that complex plan to capture a white Walker. Deep down everyone knows that Game of Thrones was really awesome this year. Because this season of HBO’s epic fantasy series saw Cersei, Daenerys, and Jon at the height of their powers. The Iron Throne’s top competitors have found a common enemy in the “Night King.” However, with the fate of Westeros hanging in the balance. Alliances were made and families were reunited.

Besides that, romance blossomed between the two main characters, some hearts were broken, and loyalties were tested. Some secrets were revealed as well. We all have our own theories on how the series will end. But one thing is for certain the walls have come tumbling down.
