Darksiders 3 Check out new Story and Gameplay

A new story-based cutscene from Darksiders 3 has been revealed. It’s Gunfire Games first ever Darksiders title, with the spotlight this time shining on Fury. You know, that famous horsewoman of the apocalypse.

Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III. A hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest. A quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen. FURY must succeed where many have failed to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth.

Darksiders III

It is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.

Beyond story components, Fury’s instructed to take on physical representations of the seven deadly sins. Though I’ve only seen two of those, Sloth and Wrath. I know a whole lot less about Wrath other than his sort of Overwatch-Reinhardt-esque design. But, each of the sins intends to be a little cartoonish, and wholly distinct from one another, and in some small way, should reflect a part of Fury.

Sloth’s a giant, admittedly gross bug, sitting on a throne held by other bugs, buried in a sort of ‘dungeon’ that has totally evolved from its original ‘Earthly’ design to an area that’s indicative of its ruler. He’s supposed to be a little funny, too, with some quirky one-liners and a cheeky attitude when you encounter him. Honestly, I’m excited to learn more about them, and I think playing through the levels leading up to each sin will be full of anticipation – what’s it going to look like? How’s it going to act?

Anyway, Fury has found herself in a bit of a pinch while having a chinwag with the Lord of the Hollows. He might be 80-foot tall but he’s not all bad though, resulting in Fury receiving her new Flame elemental form. This grants here all sorts of flame-based special attacks and the like, as well as the ability to explore hellish locales that were perhaps a little too toasty before.

The jury’s still out on this one, we just don’t know what Darksiders is going to be like without Vigil Games pulling the strings. The original two titles were excellent in different ways, and hopefully, Gunfire can conjure up a worthy successor.

Darksiders 3 is coming on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One come November 27th.
